September 7, 2018 marked the last day of my Sakaguchi Summer Internship. Everyone at Little Tokyo Community Impact Fund (LTCIF) and Little Tokyo Historical Society (LTHS) has been extremely kind to me and has provided great feedback and critique of my work. For LTCIF, I spent my last week helping them write follow up email to potential investors for the community impact fund. I helped prepare their marketing for their upcoming meeting in the South Bay regarding the fund. Although my internship has officially ended, I will continue to volunteer with the Little Tokyo Community Impact Fund, especially to help with their communications and maintenance of their website. I prepared a final report for the LTCIF that provided information on small businesses and properties in Little Tokyo. The purpose of this report was to provide recommendations on businesses that should be targeted for preservation but also properties that should be put in consideration for purchase.
At my last meeting as an intern with LTHS, a kind member sponsored my membership to officially become a part of the Little Tokyo Historical Society. I am very grateful for their generosity and the kindness of Bill Watanabe, Mike Okamura, Steve & Patty Nagano, Miya Iwataki for all their storytelling and for treating me out to lunch after the meeting.
